It just so happens

that my favorite month is here! Well, in 15 minutes it'll be December. There's many reasons why it's my favorite. Just to name a few in no particular order:

  • christmas
  • my birthday...25 baby!
  • the whole spirit that surrounds the holidays
  • spending time with family
  • having an entire season that's dedicated to the Savior
  • getting all snuggled up in my cozy slippers and pjs in front of the fire
  • and the list goes on.
To commemorate the start of this wonderful month here's just a peek at my joy.

Marlie smiles and Madisyn makes eggs (the video didn't upload all the way. oh well)

I love my life.

Homemade Gifts

Don't you love blog hopping?I know I sure do. If it wasn't for that lovely pass time I would have never found the tutorial for these adorable scarves! It really was pretty simple and I was so excited to give them to the wonderful ladies in my life :)

The True Spirit Of Christmas

I just love Christmas time for many reasons, but this year the first day of December started off with an extra special reminder of what this holiday is really about.
I went downtown to drop our car for some small repairs. It was a cold, cloudy morning. I rolled out of bed, got Madi and I all bundled up, and off we went. I pulled up to the shop, got out of the car, and was trying to pull Madi and her car seat out of the car (very heavy). All of a sudden a car pulled up behind me with Christmas music playing. My first thought was it was just someone coming to the shop while listening to some holiday tunes. I turned around to see a candy red convertible, top down, filled with beautifully wrapped gifts, with a sweet Santa sitting in the drivers seat. He smiled at me and said joyfully "MERRY CHRISTMAS". I smiled back and said the same. I pointed him out to Madisyn and turned to walk away. He motioned with his finger to "come here". So, I did. He then handed me one of the perfectly wrapped gifts and said again "MERRY CHRISTMAS". Wow, I don't know why that had such a great impact on me, but it really made my morning. Here was a sweet old man, out in the cold, with his top down, early in the morning, spreading some holiday cheer to me and my Madisyn. It's not the gift that mattered. It's the fact that he was so willing to give. I absolutely love him for that!
When we got home, I was so excited to let Madisyn open her first gift from Santa. She had so much fun with that paper and those pretty ribbons!
Inside the neatly wrapped box was the cutest chocolate brown teddy bear, wearing his knitted Christmas sweater. SO SWEET!

What a great way to start the Christmas season. The season when we celebrate the birth of our Savior by giving. Here's a picture of our little Christmas trees all decorated and you can see the bear on the right. I put him up because he will always be a reminder to me of the true spirit of Christmas. THANK YOU SANTA MAN!
