Easter at our place...

...was so much fun!

The girls woke up to the goodies the Easter bunny brought them on Sat. morning.

We decided that Saturday is "Easter Bunny Day" and Sunday is Easter. We had been talking about why we celebrate Easter all week with Madi and for FHE we had a little lesson about the resurection and the events that occured during the week leading up to it. She really loved that FHE and it made me so excited to make sure I really drive home the reason for Easter.

I wanted her to also have the fun, magical side too. It's so wonderful to see her eyes light up when she walks out and sees that something magical has happened. In this case it was the Easter bunny who made that magic happpen on Sat morning.

David made us a breakfast fit for queens (he is such a great cook)! Then, we all got ready for some fun in the sun!

It was by far the nicest weather all year on Saturday and we took full advantage of every bit of vitamin D we could get!

We headed over to a fun little country style village were they were handing out eggs at the different shops. I really love it over there!

Then it was off to grandma's house for some more fun in the sun!

Can I just say how wonderful it is to live so close to family. We love that we see them every week! Wouldn't want it any other way :)

Marlie is one animated little turkey.
She makes the most adorable faces and this is my most favorite of all!

David playing on his toy :)

After dinner we went to a play put on by one of my primary girls. I'm bummed I didn't get any pictures, but it was very cute. Madisyn loved it!

On Sunday we went to church, and then headed over to grandma's for dinner and an easter egg hunt!

Madi could see the egg that was hiding under the rug, through the siliding glass door. haha

It was a great one!

20 feet away from my house

...there is a gym. A nice gym. I can use it any time I want. The only thing is, I don't.

So, this morning I went.

Yes, my glasses are broken...thanks to my curious 3 yr old. Don't worry. I have another pair that I wear in public. haha

It felt so good!

I have been wanting to get back into some kind of excersise routine for awhile now, but I didn't have any real push to do it.

I found my "push" last night and I just went with it! It's not really a losing weight issue. It's a being healthy issue. I have had no energy these past few days. A 25 year old with two little girlies to run around with, can not afford to have no energy simply because she's just too lazy to get up and move!

Just 30 minutes a day is all I'm aiming for...for now, and once the weather is nicer, the girls and I will be putting the jogger to good use. Let's be realistic though. In WA that won't happen until the end of June. So, for now between switching it up with my videos and the gym I'm going to move for at least 30 minutes a day.

We'll see how it goes!

Catching up...sort of

If you are thinking that since it took me this long to post about our Christmas week, that must mean that it was REALLY good....you are right! (well that's not the only reason)

We had a wonderful christmas break and there are just way too many fun things to share. So, I'm going to leave you with this wonderful link to all the memories we made and leave it at that for now.

http://greenwoodfamily03.shutterfly.com/2311

If you're ever wondering if we're still alive, you can always check our shutterfly album. The link is at the top of the blog under "family pictures". That is usually the most up to date since it takes the least amount of time. Gosh, I'm sounding so lazy aren't I?

It's not really that I'm being lazy, I'd like to think of it more as prioritizing.

This is totally random, and I didn't plan on sharing this, but I've been doing alot of thinking about change. With the new year comes a chance to look back on the events of the year and make improvements where needed. I've come to realize that I have been lacking in some really important areas this past year. It's time to get back on track. I just let myself get too distracted and I'm doing some much needed prioritizing. Once I get a few ducks in a row around here, I will be better at posting. I miss it!

I just have to share.

prince cinderella

I was working on some designs for my photography website.
Madisyn came over and asked "can we make the prince?"
So we did.
When he was finished she said "now Cinderella!"
How could I resist all that excitement in her voice.
Well an hour or so later we had this creation.
It now is the backround on my desktop.
I didn't get anything else done.
Oh well.
We had fun.

It was so worth it and she is SO proud!

I love my girl!

ps. madi is always saying "happily ever after." it fits perfectly.

pps. please don't laugh. now you know i have no business in art. this is why my love is photography :)

Today...

...I'm feeling a little "off". Everyone in the house has some kind of nasty cold, the toys just keep magically getting scattered all over the place, I could have sworn that I had an empty sink just a few hours ago, I think my hair is still wet from my shower this afternoon, I don't have any desire to fix dinner, I haven't updated in too long, and the list goes on.

There are a few things that are exactly how they should be.

My hubby.
My princess.
My angel.

sweetsmell

I am in love with the smell of my sweet clean baby all bundled in a fresh clean blanket.

This will never get old.

Maybe one day I'll get caught up, but until then I am perfectly happy doing this.

October in a nutshell...

Hello out there.

Has it really been a month since my last post? I was getting pretty overwhelmed with how behind I'm getting. Is it really a big deal if I don't blog very often? Yes. This is my journal. I am horrible at journal writing, but this is my little book of remembrance. One day I'll actually get it printed out. That's the plan anyways. So with that said, here's our whirlwind of an October so far. It's been great!!
Madi painting-1_blog

Madisyn has become quite the artist. She loves to color and she does an amazing job of staying in the lines for a 2 year old. Being artistic and creative just comes naturally to her. I went out and got her some watercolors and she is totally eating it up! (not literally) She paints at least once a day. I just love watching her learn and grow. She amazes me!
petting zoo blog
Conference weekend was so fulfilling. We got to hear some wonderful talks. I just love conference! In between the two Saturday sessions, we went to a petting zoo/pumpkin patch nearby. Madisyn needed to get out after being cooped up for conference. We had a great time!

michael_homecoming_blog
The following Tuesday we had the pleasure of meeting one of our favorite missionaries at the airport to welcome him home. He is such an amazing young man. Houston Texas will miss him dearly. Love you Michael!

celeste arrives blog
Just a week after that, my sister and her little cutie pie came to visit us from Florida! They came for Marlie's' blessing, but they were here for almost a week. I loved having girl time with my sister and watching the cousins interact was so much fun!

zoo trip 10 blog
While Celeste was here we took a trip to the zoo. The weather looked pretty promising when we got there, and before we knew it, it was pouring rain. We still had so much fun. We were a little...ok REALLY wet by the time we were done, but the kids were nice and cozy in their strollers. That's all that matters right? Happy kids = happy mommies :)

frozen yogurt blog
My family arrived from California on Friday night and we all took a quick walk across the street from our place to grab some frozen yogurt. I grew up going to the local frozen yogurt place where we lived. There's nothing like going to the ice cream shop with my family. It will always hold such fond memories. Thanks guys!

g:f soccer game blog
The next morning, we made some breakfast burritos, scarfed down a few donuts and headed to the local high school for a game of soccer with mine and David's families. What a fun way to start the day! It was a good warm up for our next activity.

seattle trip 10 blog
We all came home, got dressed up and headed for Seattle. We hit all the "tourist attractions". We spent some time at the top of the Space Needle, checked out the EMP, rode the monorail, hit up Pikes Place, and had dinner and the oh so wonderful "Crab Pot". It was the cherry on the top of a really great day.

*Insert Sunday here.
A very important day in my life. The day my little angel Marlie was blessed. There was so much family and we had another very full, but very perfect day. It was so good that I decided it deserves its own post. Soon to come!*

celeste last day blog
Most of my family left the night of Marlie's blessing, but we got to keep Celeste and Evelyn a little longer. This is just a peek at our last day's adventures.

Well, there you have it. The first half of October :) Now for the second half. We'll see how long it takes me to get that up :)

I just haven't figured out how to be a mommy of a 2 year old, a 1 month old AND blog at the same time.  Any suggestions?
