He works hard for the money

And these days that is more true than ever. I think I have failed to mention that David got a new job! He still has his old one as well.

This new job has really been heaven sent. There are many reasons I say this, but the main one is that it gives him his "in" with a great company. He graduated with his BA in Business Management and it's always been his dream to be one of the big shots at a huge corporation. Either that or being the CEO of his own company. He's currently doing construction and it's been a huge blessing. It's providing a good living for our family but it's just not opening up any doors for him. We've been waiting for his big break somewhere for quite some time. He got a coveted position as a seasonal worker at Costco a few weeks ago. Every employee that works for Costco MUST start as a seasonal employee. They like to try out their employees for a few months and then they fire all of the seasonal employees on the same day. If you stand out and have good reviews, then you get a permanent position. Their corporate office is here in WA and that's where David wants to end up. They'll help pay for his Masters (MBA) as well. What a blessing!

This is his current daily schedule:
6am: leave for construction job
3pm: get home
4pm: leave for costco
11pm: get home

and do it all over again the next day.

I see my husband for about an hour a day, unless I stay up to wait for him to come home (which I've been doing a lot of lately. I'm so tired, but I just miss my love!)

David, thank you for being such a wonderful provider for your family. I love you!!! The selfish side of me can't wait till Dec 31st when I get you back.

"Daddy bye bye...

...makee money beeg cuck"

Translation: "daddy bye bye. making money. big truck."

That just about sums it up!

I haven't seen my husband in almost a week. He flew to California last friday morning to pick up our new car! I have yet to take any pictures, but it's a 2007 Ford Taurus. We had money saved up for the down payment on the house we were going to buy. I am counting my blessings on that one because without that motivation to save, there's no way we could have gotten a car big enough for our growing family. We got an awesome deal and the best part is we didn't have to do any shopping or deal with any car dealerships. I REALLY strongly dislike car shopping and we were totally able to skip all of that and ended up with a great car!

So, David flew out Friday...drove all day Saturday...got home around dinner time...spent some time with Madi and I...packed for his week away at work...and left at 5:30am on Sunday to drive to Idaho for work. Talk about too much driving in 3 days. He's so awesome!

So, Madi and I have been roughing it without him for the last week. He's coming home Friday and we can't wait!

How do you explain to a 2 year old that daddy will be gone in a big truck (not an airplane) for a week because he's has to work to make money for our family and that's where there's work for him to do right now? Well, I pretty much just told her that word for word and didn't think that it would register at all, besides the part where daddy's at work. Every morning Madi wakes up and greats me with her usual "momma wape uk" (wake up). I get her out of her crib and we cuddle and look at books for a few minutes, change her diaper cus she's "keenkee" (stinky), get her "minamin" (vitamin), and head downstairs because she's "howngee" (hungry). This week has been the same, but there's a few more words she routinely says "daddy bye bye makee money beeg cuck". She totally gets it! It's the most adorable thing ever. We then give daddy a call and send our love his way and she eats up every minute of it.

I just love that girl. Tonight we went to the lake with all the youth for mutual and she was such a joy to have there. She did everything I asked and agreed to stop doing anything I asked her not to do. She ate all her dinner and then ran all around the playground squealing for joy. I just couldn't get enough of her sweetness tonight. It's not always like this. Come on...she's TWO, but tonight she was wonderful. It was pretty muddy. So, a shower was a must when we got home. She just hopped in and let me wash her and get her out with no complaints. I got her all dressed and she even let me brush her teeth without trying to grab the toothbrush away. We read Dr. Seuss' "There's a wocket in my pocket" and she laughed at every silly rhyme. I taught her a new turtle song and she asked me to "sing it tootle one mow" (sing it turtle one more) about 5 times. We cuddled and I "cubber you" (covered her up), gave her a kiss and told her she's my princess and I love her. She repeated back every word I said and I smiled.

I didn't mean for this to turn into a documentary of my night, but it's just something I don't want to forget :)

So, David will be home in 2 days and the day he gets back, his brother and his new wife will be arriving from Utah for their "open house" here. Oh and I get to do some bridals!! It's going to be busy, but I'm looking forward to spending time with them and having my love back home!

I think that's about it for now. Hope you are having a great week!
