Time to get back to blogging again. I miss it dearly. It's my journal and even if no one besides me will ever look at it again, it will be priceless to me. So here we go!

We are all getting over a nasty virus. Lots of coughing and runny noses going on around here. We've been doing lots of cuddling and movie watching. On days like this we are loving warm steamy showers and hot bowls of soup. Mmmmmm. I think we're all at the end. It has been sunny for 3 days straight and it has been wonderful to open up the house and get some fresh air! Nothing like sunshine and fresh air to get those bugs out of the house.

Despite all that, we have managed to have some fun!

It rained, or should I say poured for 2 weeks straight at the begining of March. So, we decided if you can't beat um, join um!
This week has ben sunny almost every day!
Madi turned 3 one week ago today! She is just a little princess. Everything about her is so delicate and lady like. I love it! Madi is so artistic. Anything that has to do with art will keep her busy and happy for hours. She's loving coloring and she will spend an hour just cutting paper to shreds. It must be therapeutic or something. Maybe I should try it out hu?
It was like a pink christmas morning on Madi's birthday!
They are going to be best friends.
Marlie turned 6 months old on the 16th! Madi and Marlie are one day short of 2 1/2 years apart. I didn't even realize that until last Wednesday. Fun! Marlie is so close to sitting up. She LOVES her rice cereal, carrots, green beans, peas, but NOT bananas! What a silly girl. We haven't tried anything else so far. I'll keep you updated :) She only wakes up once a night now, which is wonderful. She rolls all over the place and loves her new play mat. The only time she isn't cooing and smiling is if she's really hungry or tired and I'm not being very attentive to her. She really is my angel baby. Oh and when I put her in her high chair to eat, she gets so impatient and yells. It's so funny. It's not even crying. It's just a full on screech. I guess eating brings out the worse in her. Haha. Love my girl!

David is an avid eBay man lately, since we haven't had work all month. It's been a HUGE blessing to have such a savy husband. he is amazing. He sure knows how to provide for his girls. Well, he needs the computer for eBay now. That's our life right now. I love it.
Madisyn came down with a nasty stomach flew while I was gone and it all came to the surface (literally) once I got home.
The week was filled with crackers, lots of laundry (I mean LOTS!), cuddle time in front of the tv, sleepless nights, upset tummies, and the diapers...well I won't even go there.
Needles to say, everything is cleaned and sanitized. Madi is eating and playing like crazy and the exploding diapers are just a bad memory.
Yep, we survived!
Here's to a new week of fun, hopefully some sun, and lots of healthy days :)
It looks like Madisyn and I will be staying inside (out of the rainy cold) today. I have a cranky runny nosed girly on my hands. I've got lots of burp cloths, lots of water, and a warm bath up my sleeves. Wish me luck! Oh the joys of winter ;)

I'm going to make this brief because Madisyn is asleep and I need a nap!
So, this has been a very eventful weekend to say the least. Not quite in the way I would have hoped. David came home from school thursday night and wasn't feeling well. About an hour later he "lost his lunch" so to speak and that continued through the night. The next morning, Madi woke up at 5 am and was laying in her own "lost lunch". Oh my goodness! Then, my stomach started to churn and the rest is history. We spent all weekend as one VERY SICK family. Madisyn has been feeling better since yesterday morning, so I took her to our play group today. After we ate...well I'm sure you can guess. She "lost her lunch" again! Will this ever end? She acts just fine and will play and eat and sometimes it all comes out and sometimes it all stays in. I'm SO done cleaning up and spotting and doing laundry! Wow, I know it'll end soon, but right now, SOON can not come quickly enough.
Wow! Vacation sure can wear you out (in a good way). We had a very full, but fun holiday break. We got to see so many relatives and my sister and her husband were there too! We drove to Malta Idaho, population 171, with David's parents in their motor home. Lets just say it took a little longer to get there than we had planned (16 hours), but we all made it safe and very tired in the end. We all got a good sleep only to wake up early to help out with Thanksgiving dinner. My mother in law prepared a cajun deep fried turkey and that was by far the best I've EVER had! Madisyn had her own first Thanksgiving feast of mashed potatoes and yams...yummy! We ate our feast around 1:00, did a little clean up and relaxing. Then the boys played basket ball while the girls went to a cute little craft show, where I picked up this "home" sign! Thanks Kathy :) Afterwords, mostly everyone went to set up for Natalie (David's cousin) and Max's wedding reception. I stayed at home with Madisyn, because unfortunately she was pretty sick (that's why her nose looks pretty nasty and shiny in all the picks above) with a nasty head cold. I've never seen her that sick and it was so sad. Traveling is hard for babies cus it throws off their schedules. Anyways, the lack of sleep and traveling caught up with me that night too. When David got home he said he didn't feel very well either! One big sick family! Oh, well we all slept very well that night. We woke up nice and early to make our way to Twin Falls for the sealing. We were in the largest sealing room the church has. It held about 70 people and there wasn't an empty seat. It was so neat. Here's the happy couple! Aren't they gorgeous. Congrats Natalie and Max! After some very windy pictures, we headed to the mall to kill some time before the luncheon. When all was said and done we headed back to Malta (that's where we stayed). Then, it was off to the reception, which was simply beautiful. The highlight of the night had to be when my dear friend Trish and her little family got there! She has been my best friend since 9th grade (she is also David's cousin, that's how David and I met) and I hadn't seen her since last December. She had never even met my little Madi till then. It was so much fun to see our kids playing with each other. The next day we all slept in and had a huge breakfast, packed up, then off we went on our trip home. We made much better time, despite the fact that we stopped at "Wingers", which is a restaurant that David worked at in Utah and he is in love with it. That is not an exaggeration! That was probably the highlight for him of this whole trip :) Silly goose. So, in the end we made it home safe and sound. What a great vacation full of family, friends and lots of fun!
Yesterday was one of those "curl up on the couch with a warm blanket in my pjs all day" kind of day. Lucky me, I caught my first sinus cold of the season! I haven't been sick at all since last December. I guess I had it coming though. Up until yesterday, I haven't had the pleasure of figuring out how to nurse myself back to health AND take care of my Madisyn (who seems to be demanding much more attention these days). She gets around very well and is into any paper, cord, electronic equipment, or closet that she can get her hands on. I think she's beginning to understand what the word "no" means ;) Don't get me wrong, I love her zest for life. She loves to explore and figure things out. It's all a part of being a mom. It was just a little frustrating yesterday, cus my head felt like it would explode any minute, and the last thing I wanted to do was chase or pick up after my little explorer.
So, when she headed straight for the DVDs, I wasn't all that excited. I figured hey what harm can she do to the cases. Let me just say she had a blast pulling each one out, examining it for a minute, then tossing it aside for the next one. As she successfully grabbed ahold of each one, she'd let out this squeal of joy for her accomplishment. That was priceless! She emptied both bottom shelves and then went for the ones above that she could reach. I had so much fun watching her and it was a quick and painless clean up once nap time rolled around.
After all was said and done, I still hadn't done anything to get ready for the day when 6pm rolled around, so I hopped in the bath for some much needed relaxation and steam to clear my stuffy head. Madi went to sleep at her usual 7:30 bed time, and I took a NyQuil (which I don't usually do, cus I don't like taking meds, but I desprately needed some relief and a good night's sleep) and went to bed! Today will be a better day. My head is already feeling much clearer, and the sun is out!
