A Great Find

I really wanted a changing table, but I didn't want to spend the money and I wanted it to have drawers. I did a lot of garage sale and craigslist shopping and finally found this little gem. Not bad for 10 bucks?

Before.....

It needed lots of sanding.

Primer and more sanding. Then, painting. (Papa put some elbow grease into it too.)

And.........

Here you have it!
Don't you love it? I sure do. Can't wait to change a little newborn bum on here :)

I should mention that I won't get to use this for Madisyn. We are officially potty training right now. It's been two days and that is a whole other post to come.

Here's the before and after. Oh and the white handles came on it originally. Didn't even have to buy those. I'd say our repurposing project was a success.

There's one more project I can't wait to post about. Unfortunately the before pictures are still on David's phone. It's all coming soon though.

Pretty much all of our furniture was purchased on craigslist or a garage sale. Watch for a post with all the great things we got.

End of August Craziness

Here it goes.

In a matter of 4 days we...

Moved into our new place.

DSC_2300
Celebrated 2 family birthdays. It was Madi's first time bowling and she thought it was awesome.

Sent David's youngest brother off to serve in Mexico for 2 years.

Madi really adores her uncle "mimmy". When she asks about him now she says "missionary. jesus. make people happy." That about sums it up :)

DSC_2511
Oh yeah and if it's possible I got bigger. Right now I'm just days away from my due date and my appointment is tomorrow. I'll post an update when I get home.

DSC_2519
We spent our first night in our new place. Madi slept great in her new "big girl bed" and mommy and daddy slept great in our new king sized bed (pics to come). Yay!

She LOVES having her own room and so does mommy.

That wraps up the rest of August.

Momma

Madisyn is asleep. I am doing a little blog hopping. This is what I came across. I really needed it. Thanks Sam!

With all the new things going on right now, I've been feeling very excited mixed with feelings of being anxious and unsure. I'm sure my fuse has been a little shorter toward my little princess lately. She's so curious and questions EVERYTHING. If she's not questioning it with her words, she's busy exploring it (getting into it...making a mess). I don't think it helps that I'm less than 3 weeks from giving birth to another one of Heavenly Father's little princesses.

How am I going to set up a new house, keep that new house in order, give Madi all the love and attention she needs, give baby all the attention she'll need, cook dinner, run a business, make time for myself, make time for David and I, and everything else that goes along with all the rolls I play right now? The only way it'll all work out is by including the Lord. I know that. It's a no brainer. It's so much easier said than done. I need to recommit to reading my scriptures and praying regularly. That's the only way I can find joy in all these wonderful things I have. It just gets to be way too much without Him.

I am so blessed.

David the love of my life.
Madisyn the most wonderful princess any momma could ever ask for and more.
A brand new baby girl to smother with love and cuddles.
A new place to live. A fresh start.
A new ward filled with young families to support one another.
My testimony. The gospel.
My family.
My friends.
That's just the beginning of the list.

I love where I am in my life right now. It's really tough sometimes, but the blessings far outweigh the struggles.

I just have to keep reminding myself of that.

Here's to finding all that joy that's to be found in "momma hood".

Lovin Summer!

I need to get all caught up before we move and before baby gets here! By the way I think this little girl has a name, but it's not 100% yet. So, I'll wait to share until we know for sure.

Since the last post a lot has happened.

I for one, got bigger (of course).

She's still growing and kicking and loving it in there. I'm getting to the point where I'm ready to have my body to myself again.

Let's back up though. I have some catch up to do.

ONELOVE Fremont 2010_0071
Madi and I made the flight to Cali to spend the week with my family. The flight went great. Madi got her own apple juice with a lid AND a straw and she thought it was fantastic.

ONELOVE Fremont 2010_0067
We spent lots of time with grandma, papa, uncle james, and aunt kayla. It was wonderful!

ONELOVE Fremont 2010_0024
That weekend, David joined us and we celebrated his 26th birthday!! A lasagna dedicated to him :)

The next morning we all loaded in the car and made the 7 hour trip to southern california for our annual family reunion camping trip at the beach.

We camped in a tent. Madi loved it.

Madi got to play with her buddy Wesley pretty much every day. They're so cute together.

We spent 16 hours in the most magical place on earth. DISNEYLAND!

3 of those hours were spent in Fairytale princess land. This girl's dreams all came true. I almost had a tear in my eye watching the joy on Madisyn's face. Wow! It was magical.

Here's her "rella" (cinderella) kisses to prove it!

ONELOVE Fremont 2010_0013
We sent daddy home to WA on the airplane and Madi and I drove back to northern california in the motor home, to spend a few more days with my family before flying home.

ONELOVE Fremont 2010_0003
This is one thing I won't forget about our trip. What you see is what you get when you get burnt and then 24 hours later you walk for 16 hours around disneyland on a hot day WHILE you're 34 wks pregnant.

ONELOVE Fremont 2010_0011DSC_1000
Not so fun! Glad to say, my feet are back to normal and all that's left is a tan.

That about wraps up that trip.

In more recent news....

Madi got her first tattoo. She got it from the doctor. It makes her "feel better". haha

This week has been in the 90s and I think I'm going to melt.

Love this girl!

I think that about sums it up!

Oh and I shot my first wedding last saturday! It was wonderful. Check it out.

Now, the count downs really start.

1 week: move into our own place.
2 weeks: send david's youngest brother off to Mexico for a 2 year mission.
4 weeks: welcome a new little princess into our family

A little too much excitement all at once, but we'll enjoy every minute of it!

Bare Belly

Baby#2_31wks_0019 eBabyG#2_31wks_0002 e
(No I didn't photoshop this in any way. That's really my belly.)

I figured now's a good a time as any to take some belly pictures showing a little skin. I'm 31 weeks along and it's just about that time that I'm REALLY showing and there's no sign of stretch marks (yet).

I don't know how good I'll be at posting in the next couple of weeks. I am leaving for girls camp tomorrow, but I'll be back the next day. Which gives me just enough time to do laundry and get everything packed for our 2 week California trip. Monday will be taken over by doctor's appointments for Madi and 1 (baby check up for me, and a follow up appointment to check that Madi's all healed up.)

I just realized that I never mentioned on my blog that Madi ended up having a pretty nasty ear infection, along with a perforated ear drum to top it all off. Poor girl! She's doing much better now. She sleeps through the night and smiles during the day. YAY!

Anyways, after the doc appointments we'll eat lunch, Madi will take a nap, and I'll scramble to get everything together for our trip the next morning. Very early morning!

I get to spend a week with my parents and then it's off to So Cal for the annual Greenwood Family Beach Trip. David will join us for that week. Can't wait to soak up some sun!

So, if you're wondering why I'm MIA for a few weeks, don't worry. My big belly and I can be found on the beaches of California.

To add to the business of it all, a week or so after we get back, David Madi and I are moving into our own place! That gives me a few weeks to get everything set up and ready. Then, our little princess #2 will be here.

Wow.

Wish me luck!

Baby#2_31wks_0016 e

Next time I post, I'll probably be swollen and HUGE. So, just remember me when I was cute and prego like this ok?

Thanks!
